It is designed for professionals who are responsible for managing storage and compute resources using Windows Server 2016 and who need to understand the scenarios, requirements, and storage and compute options available and applicable in Windows Server 2016.

This course will help you refresh the knowledge and skills related to storage and compute for Windows Server 2016. The course is aimed at the following groups of people: • Windows Server administrators who are relatively new to Windows Server administration and related technologies and want to learn more about Windows Server 2016 storage and compute capabilities. • IT experts with general IT skills who want to get information about Windows Server - especially regarding the storage and computer technologies in Windows Server 2016. The second target group for this course consists of IT experts who want to take the Microsoft 70-740 certification exam "Installation, Storage and Compute with Windows Server 2016".

Pré- requisitos

Before starting the course, students must have: • Basic knowledge of the network basics. • Knowledge and understanding of best security practices. • Understand basic AD DS concepts. • Basic knowledge of server hardware. • Experience in supporting and configuring Windows client operating systems such as Windows 8 or Windows 10. The course participants would also benefit from previous knowledge of the Windows Server operating system, for example as a Windows Server system administrator.

After completing the course, course participants will be familiar with the following topics: • Prepare and install the nano server and server core, and plan an upgrade and migration strategy for servers. • Describe the various storage options, including partition table formats, basic and dynamic disks, file systems, virtual disks, and disk hardware, and describe how to manage disks and volumes. • Describe corporate storage solutions and choose the appropriate solution for a particular situation. • Implement and manage storage space and data deduplication. • Install and configure Microsoft Hyper-V and configure virtual machines. • Deploy, configure, and manage Windows and Hyper-V containers. • Describe Windows Server 2016 high availability and disaster recovery technologies. • Plan, create, and manage a failover cluster. • Implement failover clustering for Hyper-V virtual machines. • Configure a cluster for Network Load Balancing (NLB) and plan an NLB implementation. • Create and manage deployment images. • Manage, monitor, and maintain virtual machine installations.
